My ETEN X500 Glofiish is gone...

Well, I used to drop him on the floor couple of time and now when I plug it in for charging... Well, it resets and it just doesn't start...

So, right now, for quite some time I use a Nokia N82 which I really love beacause has a very good camera, excellent video and so on...

I do miss sometime my Glofiish because it was much easier to send sms, read documents and so on...

We move on...

Sample Pictures taken with ETEN X500

Below are some pictures taken with ETEN X500 in Gibraltar and Bucharest:

ETEN X500 + VGA display = ETEN X500+

Eten announced on 17th may the first high resolution Pocket PC Phone.
It has the same characteristics on X500 and the differences are:
- VGA display; it's a nice add-on, hopefully will have a better constrast.
- Windows Mobile 6 installed by default. If you have X500 and you want WM6 installed, you can register with ETEN Corp and download for free the upgrade pack.
A step by step tutorial about installing WM6 on ETEN X500 will soon be available.
For some unknown reason, I did't manage to install using my loptop and running Windows Vista, I had to use my other laptop with Windows Xp to install it.

Adobe Acrobat Reader for Pocket PC on ETEN X500 Glofiish

In my previous posts I was saying that you can use ETEN X500 for document reading using Adobe Reader.
How to install Adobe Acrobat Reader on ETEN X500:

  1. Download Adobe Reader for Pocket PC
  2. Connect your PDA to the computer using USB cable
  3. Make sure Windows recognized your device (on Windows Vista - Windows Mobile Center does a good job)
  4. Run: AdbeRdr20_ppc_enu.exe and press Next...
  5. You will be prompted to check your PDA screen for additional steps
  6. On your PDA screen you will be asked where to install Adobe Reader: on your internal memory or SDMMC (if you have one)
  7. A warning will be shown saying that Adobe reader for made for a previous version of Windows Mobile, just say ok
  8. Adobe Reader is installed on [...]Program Files/Adobe/Acrobat 2.0/Reader
To test it:
Run AcroRd32 from its location on your PDA and choose the manual: Adobe Reader User Guide to open.
And that's all folks.
